2. Overview

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data is collected when you use this website and the GenAudioBook app — and what is not.

In short: This website uses no cookies, no tracking, and no analytics. The app runs 100% offline and sends no data to any server.

3. Website (genaudiobook.com)

3.1 Hosting

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service by GitHub, Inc. (88 Colin P Kelly Jr St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit this website, technical data (e.g. IP address, browser type, access time) may be stored in server log files by GitHub. This is outside of my control.

3.2 Cookies

This website uses no cookies. The only data stored locally is your language preference (DE/EN) in your browser's Local Storage. Local Storage is not a cookie and is not transmitted to any server.

3.3 Analytics & Tracking

This website uses no analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no tracking pixels). No user profiles are created.

3.4 Google Fonts

This website uses Google Fonts for consistent typography. When loading the page, a connection to Google LLC servers (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) is established. Your IP address may be transmitted to Google.

3.5 External Links

This website contains links to external services (Gumroad for purchasing the Pro version). When clicking these links, the privacy policies of the respective providers apply.

4. GenAudioBook App

4.1 Local Processing

The GenAudioBook app runs entirely locally on your Mac. All books, audio files, and AI models are processed and stored exclusively on your device. No data is sent to external servers.

4.2 License Activation

When activating the Pro version, your license key is sent once to the Gumroad API (gumroad.com) to verify its validity. The following data is transmitted:

• The entered license key
• The product ID (permalink)

No other personal data is transmitted. The license check is performed over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

4.3 AI Model Downloads

When first installing an AI engine, model files are downloaded from HuggingFace (huggingface.co) or PyPI. Your IP address may be transmitted to these services. After download, no internet connection is required.

4.4 Stored Data

The app stores the following data locally on your Mac:

• License status and usage time (encrypted in ~/.genaudiobook_data)
• Generated audio files (in your chosen export folder)
• Downloaded AI models (in ~/Documents/GenAudioBook/Models/)
• Log files (in ~/Documents/GenAudioBook/Logs/)

All of this data can be deleted by you at any time.

5. Payment Processing

Purchases of the Pro version are processed through Gumroad, Inc. (548 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). I only receive your email address and purchase status from Gumroad. Payment details (credit card etc.) are processed exclusively by Gumroad and are not accessible to me.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — request information about data stored about you
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data
• Object — object to data processing
• Complaint — file a complaint with a supervisory authority
